IALHI

Established in 1970, IALHI(The International Association of Labour History Institutions) is an international archivist organization of labour-related archives (http://www.ialhi.org/). According to Kazuo Nimura (former director of the Ohara Institute for Social Research), “Perhaps, IALHI could be translated into Japanese as an international association of labour history research organizations. Ms. Eileen Wagner of British Labour Party Archives was the founder and head of the association. I spoke to her about the Ohara Institute and she replied that it is well-suited to and would like us to join IALHI. Afterwards, I contacted Japan and immediately joined IALHI (My 43 years with the Ohara Institute for Social Research, Journal of Ohara Institute for Social Research, Iss.484 (March 1999), p.48). Since then, the Ohara Institute for Social Research has been the only member of IALHI from Japan and participated in IALHI conferences as the following.
